Brentford made it six consecutive wins with an impressive 5-0 win over Crewe Alexandra at Griffin Park on Saturday.

For the second Saturday in a row the home fans were treated to a five goal feast as the Bees took the lead just before the break and turned on the style during the second half to knock another four past a beleaguered Railwaymen.

Crewe old boy Clayton Donaldson bagged a brace but he was out-shone by his striker partner Marcello Trotta, who turned in a man of the match performance, just ahead of the impressive George Saville and Adam Forshaw, as these three completed the scoring.

Forshaw had Brentford's first chance when Trotta was fouled just outside the box, and after seeing the wall block his first attempt, the midfielder's second shot was held by Alan Martin.

Crewe's best chance of the first half came when Bradden Inman shot wide of the left hand post from just inside the Bees' box.

Trotta put the home side ahead two minutes before the break with an impressive bullet header from 12 yards out after Crewe failed to clear a free kick from the right.

The game was effectively settled just a minute into the second half when Donaldson and Trotta combined to set up Forshaw, who burst into the box and coolly slot the ball into the bottom right hand corner.

Jonathan Douglas came close to scoring when his shot took a slight deflection and cannoned off the post.

On the hour mark Saville found the bottom right hand corner with a shot from just inside the box, while just four minutes later Donaldson grabbed his first when he exchanged passes with Douglas and took the ball round Martin to score from close range.

The striker wrapped things up when he added the home side's fifth, breaking into the box and slotting his low shot under Martin to cap an impressive win for the Bees.
