Two men who were reported acting suspiciously after someone spotted them looking into people’s gardens in Sutton have been jailed for five months.
A resident waved down a passing police vehicle before Romai Julie Araneda, 35, and Juan Ricardo Lobos Chu-Han, 36, both of no fixed abode, were approached by officers and asked what they were doing.
But questions were raised when both men gave ‘different and changing accounts’, according to Sutton Police.
Araneda and Chu-Han were both arrested by police when a large screwdriver was found in one of their rucksacks before they were interviewed and charged.
They pleaded guilty of going out equipped to steal when they appeared at Camberwell Green Magistrates Court on March 19 and were sentenced to 20 weeks in prison.
