An Indian restaurant in Twickenham may lose its licence after two alleged illegal workers were found on the premises.
Two workers from Bangladesh were found at Sheesh Mahal in London Road on Saturday, October 28.
One was allegedly “working in breach of immigration conditions”, while the other “had no right to work”.
The restaurant owner has been served with a Civil Penalty Notice, which carries a maximum fine of £20,000.
The decision on whether the restaurant will keep its licence, or whether restrictions will be imposed, will be made this evening (January 11) at a licensing sub-committee.
Questioned on whether the Government was cracking down on illegal workers, a spokesman for the Home Office said: “Immigration Enforcement is an operational directorate within the Home Office responsible for enforcing immigration law and uses the full force of the law to tackle illegal migration including targeted enforcement operations across the UK.”
