Emmerdale fans finally know the whereabouts of baby Tate after Monday night’s episode confirmed he is safe and well.
The child was shown in the care of Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) at a secluded cottage, with Kim Tate (Claire King) arriving at the hideout with supplies.
This confirmed her involvement in the plot.
The episode also ended with the narration of a letter from Vinny (Bradley Johnson) to Nicola (Nicola Wheeler), in which he apologised for the tragic accident that claimed the life of her husband Jimmy King (Nick Miles).
The baby’s father, Joe (Ned Porteous), still has no idea where his son is.
Sophie Roper, producer on Emmerdale, said: "Kim was devastated at the prospect of Joe giving the baby up for adoption.
"While it initially appeared that Graham and Kim had resigned themselves to the plan, they have secretly intervened to ensure the baby remains safe and hidden away.
"Desperate for Joe not to come to regret his decision, Kim’s determined to find a way to reunite father and son.
"But with Joe still consumed by grief over losing Dawn and Thea set on vengeance against Kim, can Kim and Graham continue to protect their secret?"
The storyline raises questions about how Joe will react once he discovers that Graham defied his orders to put the child up for adoption.
The baby, a Tate heir, provides Kim with an opportunity to redeem herself.
When Thea (Chelsea Edge) eventually learns the truth, Kim may finally be able to prove that she has attempted to make amends for the family’s past.
