Channel 5 is set to explore a murder case from the 1990s that gripped the nation in a new true crime production.
Road Rage: The Tracie Andrews Murder will take a look at one of the most notorious murder investigations in Britain and comes after the release of the channel's popular true crime drama, Under Suspicion: Kate McCann, earlier this year.
Tracie Andrews was sentenced to life in prison and spent 14 years behind bars for the murder of her fiancé, Lee Raymond Dean Harvey, on December 1, 1996.
Andrews will be played by Emma Rigby, who is best known for her time in Hollyoaks playing Hannah Ashworth.
What will the Tracie Andrews documentary explore?
The synopsis for the new film says: “Tracie Andrews always dreamed of being famous.
“Now her dream is becoming a nightmare.
“In December 1996, Tracie walks into a police station in Worcestershire, the apparent traumatised victim and the sole witness to her fiancé's murder.
“Twenty-five-year-old Lee Harvey has been killed on a dark country lane following what appears to be a terrifying road-rage attack.
“Tracie is injured, shaken, and desperate for justice.
“She tells police they were chased by another car driving aggressively.
“When both vehicles stop, a confrontation erupts.
“The driver backs away, but the passenger approaches and launches a brutal attack.
“The murderous stranger Tracie describes as having 'staring eyes' vanishes into the night, leaving her beaten on the road with her dying fiancé.”
The drama will show how Andrews’ story becomes the foundation of the case with the media turning her into a “blonde bombshell figure of public sympathy”.
Andrews’ testimony was rewatched and analysed by the public and turned the “grieving fiancée into a cultural fixation”.

Viewers will see how detectives notice small inconsistencies in her story that turn her into a prime suspect.
The programme will draw from first-hand accounts, archive transcripts, and police records and has been described by Channel 5 as a "gripping psychological crime thriller".
There is no set date for when the drama will be shown, but it is set to air at some point in July.
