The Rolling Stones and Royal Mail are set to release a set of 12 stamps later this month that celebrates the band's 60th anniversary.

Some of the stamps feature images from their most famous performances, including at Hyde Park in 1969, Knebworth in 1976 and Rotterdam in 1995.

Four more stamps will be available in miniature sheet format, featuring two photos of the band together and two of their worldwide tour posters.

According to PA, The Rolling Stones is only the fourth band to feature in a dedicated stamp issue, following The Beatles in 2007, Pink Floyd in 2016, and Queen in 2020.

Songs like 'You Can't Always Get What You Want', 'Gimme Shelter', and 'Brown Sugar' have proved to be very popular.

David Gold, Royal Mail’s director of public affairs and policy, said: “Few bands in the history of rock have managed to carve out a career as rich and expansive as that of the Rolling Stones.

“They have created some of modern music’s most iconic and inspirational albums, with ground-breaking live performances to match.”
