Former BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra DJ MistaJam has launched a new national 24-hour dance music radio station, Capital Dance.

What music does Capital Dance play?

Listeners to Capital Dance will be able to hear the 'biggest dance anthems and freshest club mixes anywhere on the dial', playing tracks from the likes of Disclosure, MK, Jessie Ware, Love Regenerator, Calvin Harris, Martin Solveig, Peggy Gou, Paul Woolford, The Blessed Madonna, Disciples, Duke Dumont, Jax Jones, Aluna and Armand Van Helden.

When will MistaJam be on Capital Dance?

The 37-year-old, who left the BBC after 15 years over a week ago, launched Capital Dance on Thursday, October 1.

He will host the afternoon drive show on Capital Dance from Tuesday to Saturday between 4pm and 7pm.

MistaJam will also host a weekend show - The Capital Weekender - on Friday and Saturday nights from 7pm to 10pm on both the main Capital station and Capital Dance.

Who else will have shows on the new radio station?

Touring DJ and radio presenter Coco Cole also joins Capital Dance as the host of an evening show from Monday to Thursday from 7pm to 10pm.

Fellow DJ Rio Fredrika will also host the Capital Dance drive show on Mondays between 4pm and 7pm.

The 24-hour station will play non-stop dance music throughout the rest of the schedule.

What is MistaJam's real name?

Real name Peter Dalton, MistaJam was born in Nottingham and began DJing at local events as a teenager before taking on a role at a local pirate radio station.

He became one of the BBC’s best-known presenters after joining 1Xtra in 2005 to host an overnight Thursday show.
