A man has been charged with assaulting a police officer at a cordon in Salisbury cemetery.
Daniel Daley, 53, of Bourne Avenue, Salisbury, was charged with assaulting a police officer, racially aggravated public order and being drunk and disorderly after the incident, which is alleged to have taken place on March 22.
A police spokesman said: “Daley is due before Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on May 4 2018.”
The London Road cemetery was cordoned off by police investigating the nerve agent poisoning of spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia.
The grave of Mr Skripal’s wife Liudmila, who was buried in 2012, and the memorial stone of his son Alexander – who was cremated last year, were investigated by police after reports the father and daughter had visited earlier in the day they were found in Salisbury city centre.
