Wandsworth and Wimbledon parents welcomed their children into the world as 20 babies were born at St George’s Hospital on Christmas and New Year’s Day.
A combined 12 were born to Wandsworth parents on December 25 and January 1, while eight are from Merton.
The figures include babies born at St George’s and mothers who birthed at home with St George’s community support and care.
St George’s senior midwife Margaret Flynn said: “Delivering any baby is a privilege for the team involved in the woman’s care but it is even more special during the Christmas and New Year period.
“We’ve had lots of lovely comments from families appreciating the care they’ve received and we’re delighted to play a part in delivering their babies safely into the world.”
