A little girl had her Christmas wish come true when a unicorn turned up to her house.

Six-year-old Abi Harrison from Hersham opened the door to the surprise of a mythical creature standing on her driveway.

She was then able to stroke and hug the unicorn – her one wish for the festive season.

Abi’s mother, Laura, said: “Abi is absolutely unicorn-mad and this year the one and only thing she asked Father Christmas for was to catch a glimpse of one.

“She was absolutely speechless when she opened the door to see that her wish had come true. Abi’s not stopped talking about her very special visitor – she’s got a framed photo with her new unicorn friend together so she can cherish that magical moment forever.”

National jewellers Beaverbrooks worked with Laura to create the magical moment, with weeks of planning.

Anna Blackburn, CEO of Beaverbrooks, said: “Christmas really is the most magical time of the year, so this December we wanted to spread a bit of festive joy by making one little girl’s Christmas wishes come true.

“When we heard about Abi’s infatuation with unicorns and her heart-warming story, we were thrilled to be able to bring the magic to life for her. We’re sure the unicorn turning up outside her house helped create a special moment she’ll remember forever.”
