Where’s Wally and an Umpa Lumpa, were some of the characters who turned up to school on Thursday (March 1).
Children at Culvers House Primary School came dressed as their favourite book character as part of Book Week.
Children and parents went to great lengths to ensure they looked the part and the staff also dressed up to promote a love of reading.
The week ended with a visit from children’s author Dennis Bond.
The school’s reading co-ordinator Jenny Ryan said: “The children have gained so much from this week and won’t forget it for a long time.
“This was just our latest initiative to promote reading at our school.”
Headteacher Robert Eyre-Brook added: “We realise just how important learning to read confidently is for every child and we are determined to take every opportunity to enthuse the children to read for pleasure.”
