Talented people with autism are to get a spot in the limelight, thanks to campaigner Anna Kennedy, pictured.

Anna, the director of Baston House School in Bromley is taking Autism’s Got Talent to the Mermaid Theatre in London on Saturday, May 12.

The show is designed to bring the extraordinary and varied talents of autistic children and young adults to the attention of the world.

It features young people like dancer James Hobley who, at the age of 11, stunned the judges of the mainstream hit show, Britain’s Got Talent. James came eighth in the show.

Anna’s plan to stage Autism’s Got Talent comes hot on the heels of her dance DVD, Step in the Right Direction, created in collaboration with the Pineapple Performing Arts School in London.

Pineapple is collaborating with Anna yet again to help make the Mermaid show a night to remember. The school’s students are scheduled to present a performance based on the issue of bullying.

Anna’s venture into theatre also follows an appearance on our TV screens in ITV’s Holding Out for a Hero quiz show which she took part in to raise awareness of her cause.

Anna Kennedy has been described as a one-woman powerhouse making the world a better place for people on the autistic spectrum.

She is a mother of two autistic boys and the businesswoman behind a string of thriving educational establishments for autistic children – one of them being Baston House School – and adults.

She is also the author of a best-selling autobiography Not Stupid (John Blake Publishing) which tells the story of her struggle against the odds to get appropriate care for her growing sons.

Tickets for the show are £10. Phone Lisa Robins on 01895 619734.
