Almost fifty students from Carshalton Boys Sports College visited Westminster this week for a guided tour of Parliament, the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
Following their tour the boys met Carshalton and Wallington MP Tom Brake who hosted a question and answer session.
The group, made of up of students aged 11-14, spent the morning in Parliament before visiting the Supreme Court later that afternoon.
Mr Brake said: “It was great to see so many local students in Westminster. It’s always a pleasure to meet and talk with such intelligent and inquisitive pupils.
“They were also keen to pursue a rather forensic and intense line of questioning about what amounts to ‘reasonable force’ in self-defence against burglars.”
A wide range of issues, from the politics of the Coalition Government to the building works on Wallington High Street, were discussed during the question and answer session.
