Students put their learning to practice during a day out at the races.

Pupils from Glyn Technology School in Epsom and Kings International College in Camberley took part in the Racing to School Programme at Sandown Park in Esher on Friday, June 10.

The day was organised to encourage the students to apply the subjects they study at school to practical use.

It started with a tour of the weighing room, where students took part in a mathematics lesson.

They also managed to have insiders look at how the jockeys prepare for race day.

This school initiative is run by the British Horseracing Education and Standards Trust (BHEST), which is preparing activities for more than 10,000 schoolchildren of different age every year.
