School expansion sees closure of Blagdon Park
Blagdon Park will be locked during the day for a year when the expansion of Burlington Infant and Junior Schools begins later this month.
The park will be closed from 8am to 5pm during the week but will be open at evenings and weekends.
Kingston Council said the pathway into Blagdon Park would be used by contruction traffic during the expansion, blocking the only access to the park.
A spokesman said: “Unfortunately, the path is simply not wide enough to separate pedestrians and construction traffic vehicles safely during working hours.”
Work on expanding Burlington Infant and Junior School to four forms of entry is expected to end by December.
