Children from Long Ditton Infant and Nursery School in Ditton Hill Road have raised more than £1,000 to help vulnerable people In Malawi.
On Wednesday, June 16, a cheque of £1,115 was presented to charity the Landirani Trust by some of the pupils, headteacher Anne Porteron and Reverend Vicki Burrows from St Mary’s Long Ditton.
The Surbiton-based charity was set up in 2005 and provides support to more than 3,000 Malawians through 25 schools. The money raised by the Long Ditton pupils will go towards improving water supplies.
The school also has an international link with the M’bang’ombe School in Malawi, which was set up by the Landirani Trust.
