Drama students at ACS Cobham took part in a festival on Wednesday, May 12, and Thursday, May 13, where they performed pieces focusing on the United Nations Millennium Goals.

The performances, highlighting issues such as gender equality, the eradication of hunger and reducing child mortality, were filmed and will be used as teaching aids at a school in Nambia.

Daryl Nel, head of arts at the school in Portsmouth Road, said: “The projects are entirely student led. They are writing, creating and performing their pieces and so they should be particularly proud of what they have achieved.

“Not only was it a good experience to perform their projects to fellow ACS Cobham students, their productions will actually make a real difference when the are used to help provide teaching stimulus for teachers in Namibia.”
