More than 25 tiny toddlers waddled across Malden Manor School playground on Wednesday, May 19 to raise more than £200 for the Meningitis Trust.
The sponsored tots, from the Old Malden Children’s Centre Stay and Play group, prepared for their mini-marathon by decorating themselves with hats and face paints, before lining up at the start.
The under fives were helped round with encouragement from parents and older pupils from Malden Manor School, before bursting through the finishing banners at the end.
Highlights included an appearance from popular Meningitis Trust mascot Monty the Duck, plus a colourful path, mini-obstacle course and a giant, coloured parachute.
William, two, said: “I liked the stepping stones best and cuddling Monty.”
Nationally, the Toddle Waddle has raised more than £2.5m to date, as a major annual fundraising event for the Meningitis Trust, the leading UK charity working with families affected by the disease.
