Guests flocked to Chestnut Grove School in Balham last week for a Somali Poetry Book day.
Parents, teachers, students and governors gathered, many in traditional dress, to celebrate Somalia’s rich literary history.
Last year it was recorded that the school, which is rated outstanding by Ofsted, took three quarters of its students from minority ethnic groups.
The event was held to promote good relations with Somali students and parents.
