Elliott School in Putney is making satisfactory progress six months after a damning Ofsted report, inspectors have said.
The school recently received an encouraging letter after a two-day monitoring visit beginning on September 29.
Inspectors noted improvements in management, leadership, behaviour, teaching and morale.
GCSE exam results were also on the up, with 15 per cent more students getting five or more A* to C grades than last year.
The school’s attendance improvement was also noted, as now it is only just below national average.
However, inspectors still found some areas to be addressed, such as ICT.
Margaret Peacock, interim headteacher, said: “We are really pleased that the Ofsted monitoring visit could see that progress is already being made and that Elliott School is going to go from strength to strength, and we hope that we have the community support.”
In May, the Pullman Gardens school was put in special measures after inspectors noted problems including inadequate leadership, low staff morale and underachievement.
A new headteacher is currently being recruited.
