Talented Wandsworth students have made it to the finals of a fashion competition.

Jacqueline Boakye and Lee-Ann Willoughby, both aged 17, were announced as finalists in this year’s Fashion Futures 2 (FF2) project, during a special exhibition held at east London arts centre Rich Mix on May 14.

Jacqueline and Lee-Ann, both students at St Francis Xavier 6th form in Clapham, beat hopefuls from 29 different schools and colleges in Salford and London.

They were among the 23 lucky finalists of the competition, organised by Fashion Awareness Direct (FAD).

They will now take part in an intensive summer school at arts college Central Saint Martins where they will have just five days to make their garments for the 2009 FAD Junior Awards and catwalk show.

The 2009 FAD Summer School will take place at Central Saint Martins from July 13 to 17.
