Actors from the Globe Theatre brought the plays of William Shakespeare to life during a project at Ernest Bevin College.
Year 9 pupils took part in a series of workshops last week, focusing on the language of Shakespeare- particularly in the play Romeo and Juliet.
The budding thespians also received 181 free tickets for a live performance of the play at the Globe in March. Lizzy Bosley, deputy head of English, said: “All the workshops were tremendous fun, with the students learning a range of new skills from how to use body language on stage to what Shakespeare’s words really mean.
“But these workshops had a serious outcome too, as they have helped to prepare the boys for their English exams later on in the year.”
