Trinity School in Croydon are through to the U15 national T20 competition after a close-run win over neighbours Whitgift School last week in the Surrey regional final.
Alex Roberts (66) led the Trinity charge as they carded 136-9 off their allotted overs.
Whitgift struggled to 59-2 at the half-way stage of their reply, but fought back to need just eight off the final over.
It was left to Trinity’s Pawan Peethamber (4-25) to send down the final balls, and he did the job, restricting Whitgift to seven runs and securing a one-run win for Trinity.
The school will face the winners of the Sussex competition later this week.
