A Surbiton day nursery has been given an outstanding rating in its latest Ofsted inspection.
A report released following an inspection at Sutherland Day Nursery in Ewell Road found the nursery had improved on its good rating of five years ago.
Inspectors visited the school last month and wrote in the report: “The quality of teaching is excellent.
“The provider and staff skilfully promote children’s understanding and skills, inspiring them to explore, be imaginative and with confidence and joy to take on new challenges.”
The nursery run by husband and wife Andrew and Grazyna Sutherland opened in 2008 and now has 49 children aged up to five-years-old.
Mrs Sutherland said: “I am also extremely proud of my staff and everyone involved in making our nursery such a caring and happy environment for all.”
Enhancing the nursery’s outdoor area to allow more varied activities was the only improvement suggested in the report.
