After a water leak destroyed children’s display work at a nursery, 14 kind-hearted students from South Thames College used their artistic skills to bring new life to the school.
Young people from the Prince’s Trust Team Programme - a 12-week personal development scheme for 15-16-year-olds - set about creating a new inspiring environment for the children and staff of Ashburton Nursery in Putney.
They decorated the exterior with an inviting landscape and a painting of a "thinking three", hoping that it will help children improve their team work and confidence on Friday.
Nursery manager, Jacki Webster, said: "We’ve been really impressed by the hard work the young people from South Thames College are putting in for our children."
To fund the refurbishment, the team helped customers pack their bags at Asda Clapham Junction and raised £506.62 from donations.
