Kingston Grammar School is planning a series of Saturday masterclasses for next year after a successful stint teaching children forensic science, music and shipwreck survival this term.

More than 130 students from Year 5 and 6 classes in primary schools across the borough attended the free masterclasses at the London Road site.

The classes were held on up to three mornings in the summer term and 20 members of staff worked on introducing young people to 11 different subjects and activities which included exploring the ancient world, creative writing and fun with clay.

This year the activities had the largest turnout ever.
