Shops, flats and even a library built by Croydon Council-owned developer Brick by Brick are all available to buy or rent.

The listings come as the company prepares to be closed down next year.

Brick by Brick was set up by the council in 2016 in a bid to create more homes in the borough.

But many of the developments have faced fierce local opposition and the cash-strapped council was criticised for giving the company £200 million.

Last week saw the shock listing of a brand new library in South Norwood.

It was put up for rent for £60,000, as Croydon’s Mayor Jason perry blamed rising construction costs and delays.

Another shop has been put up for rent in central Croydon for £62,000.

The large space sits at the bottom of Drummond House on the junction of Reeves Corner and Church Street.

The development includes 28 flats over two blocks, which are currently on sale.

On offer are 22 two bedroom flats, four of which are maisonettes with gardens and the remaining six are one-bedroom flats.

A handful of flats have been sold with the remaining listed at between £315,000 and £475,000.

An office space on the ground floor of the Kindred House block of flats, on the site of the old Wandle Road surface car park, has gone”under offer” for £24,000 a year.

The 128 flats in the 25-storey block, which overlooks the Croydon Flyover have “just launched” and potential buyers can express interest.

A one-bedroom flat is currently listed by Hamptons for £355,000 while a two bed is available for £460,500.

There are still flats for sale at Heathfield Gardens in South Croydon.

But despite Brick by Brick’s website showing at least six have been reserved the flats have stood empty for more than a year.

A quarter share in a two-bedroom flat would set you back £110,000.

So Resi agents for the properties said: “We are aware of the delays at Heathfield Gardens and are in constant communication with the developer Brick By Brick.

"In the meantime, our sales team, who act as the agents, remain in regular contact with buyers, to ensure they are kept informed of all updates that we receive.”

New flats are also nearly on offer in Malling Close in South Norwood.

Brick by Brick lists seven flats as “coming soon” between £250,000 and £385,000.
