A teenager was arrested in McDonald’s after a robbery on the same street.
Police officers and the Met’s dog squad were sent to Wickham Road in Shirley at about 1.25pm yesterday to reports of a robbery in progress.
Half an hour later a 15-year-old boy matching the same description of the suspect was seen in the McDonald’s on the same road.
The teenager was arrested on suspicion of robbery and taken to a south London police station, where he remains in custody.
The stolen property has been recovered, a Metropolitan Police spokesman said.
Anyone who witnessed the robbery is asked to call 101.
