A man was arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive after his car ploughed into several parked vehicles in Addiscombe.
Police, paramedics and London Fire Brigade were called at about 6.20am on Sunday to reports of a car hitting at least three other vehicles in Davidson Road.
The driver, in his 20s, was taken to hospital, where he remains.
He was later arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive and bailed to a date in early July, a Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said.
Davidson Road was closed for around three hours on Sunday morning while emergency services investigated the crashes.
