More than 70 children aged 5 – 11 years attended this year’s Summer Holiday Club at Christ Church with St Philip in Worcester Park recently.
The theme was ‘On Your Marks’ and was set at the Global Games Stadium and Athletes village.
In fact the title reflected both the athletics theme and also the bible basis which were extracts from Mark’s Gospel.
During the sessions the children heard how Jesus formed his team, how he shaped the team and how we can all be a part of His team today.
The children also warmed up with daily aerobics, played games, undertook athletic challenges, made crafts, completed activity sheets, watched a daily drama and sang songs.
A points competition was closely contested between the ‘Track’ and ‘Field’ teams and for the first time ever, the results were drawn.
The holiday club was another great success helped by the 30+ leaders, helpers and young assistants who also had a great time.
For more photo’s and details of services and other activities and youth organisations meeting in the halls, see the church website www.xcsp.org.uk.
