The first South Norwood Community Festival is to be held on Saturday.

The event is being held at the Clock Tower on Station Road, where a range of activities will be on offer.

As well as having DJ's, face painting and a space simulator, there will also be funfair rides, Bollywood dancers and more than 20 arts and craft stalls on offer.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to Get Kids Going, a charity which gives disabled children and young people the opportunity to participate in sport.

It is hoped the event organised by the South Norwood Swans and the South Norwood branch of H&T Pawnbrokers, will become an annual festival.

Stuart Clarke, manager of H&T Pawnbrokers, South Norwood said: "We are really excited about the first annual SNCF, it should be a great day for all of the community.

"We value the importance of community spirit and local pride and are glad to be working with South Norwood Swans to plan and deliver the event.

"The support from local businesses and the council has been overwhelming and we are confident that the festival will be a great celebration."
