The manager of a financial giant scaled Mount Everest in a charity climb.
Conor McGahon, 28, manager of the Elmbridge-based Berkeley Group, raised more than £88,000 after completing a gruelling two-month trek to the summit of Mount Everest.
Mr McGahon, who grew up in Weybridge, said: “I am absolutely elated to have reached the summit of Everest and stand at the top of the world. It has been a lifelong dream and an amazing opportunity to raise so much money for the Berkeley Foundation.”
The Berkeley Foundation donated £800,000 to charity last year, and was hoping to beat their target in 2012.
Rob Perrins, managing director of the Berkeley Group, said: “This is a remarkable achievement by Conor - an epic feat of endurance and an incredible way to raise money for young people and the Berkeley Foundation.”
