The council has a fleet of 400 vehicles and 600 items of mechanical plant. It currently has two apprentices in the transport workshops and now wants to take on another. The council is looking for someone who will be aged between 16 and 17 by September 2000 who would be committed to a four-year training programme involving an indentured apprenticeship. Any young people wishing to apply should contact the public services and works department at Taberner House.
