Crystal Palace have played down talk of a rift between Peter Taylor and Clinton Morrison after the Republic of Ireland striker reacted angrily at being substituted in the recent draw with Hull City.

Morrison was booked minutes before half-time for dissent and his anger steadily increased towards the break. He did not re-appear for the second half and it was reported the duo had a falling out in the Eagles dressing room.

But Palace chairman Simon Jordan played down the incident and denied Morrison would be sold in the January transfer window.

"There will always be disputes in the dressing room between managers and players," said Jordan.

"I think Peter Taylor is perfectly capable of handling Clinton Morrison.

"I read in the newspapers that Clinton has been sold. But that is my decision.

"There is no agenda for me to sell Clinton. If Clinton behaves atrociously in the future that changes things.

"But if he behaves the way he should behave and treats his manager with the respect he should treat him with and will treat him with, then I don't think there will be an issue."

Meanwhile, Taylor may welcome back Tom Soares and Carl Fletcher for the game against top-of-the-table Cardiff City on Saturday.

The midfield duo have made good progress following their ankle injuries and will be pushing for a place on the bench.

Another Eagles player in contention is Lewis Grabban, who has been recalled from a loan spell with Oldham Athletic.

Grabban made 10 appearances for the Latics but failed to notch any goals.
