A Croydon supermarket has reopened eight months after being destroyed in the riots.
The Lidl store, on London Road, had been operating out of a temporary structure on the site since the store was badly damaged by rioters and looters last August.
Mayor Graham Bass cut the ribbon and declared the refurbished store open, at a fun day held at the new store on April 5.
Rosemary Ruhesi was the first customer into the revamped store and was rewarded with a bottle of champagne, flowers and a free hamper packed with goodies.
The re-opening also marked the start of the Lidl bus tour, which will see the bus visiting Lidl across the nation providing samples of the supermarkets products.
Georgina Hall of Lidl said: "As part of the local community we felt deeply affected when Croydon was damaged in the riots, which is why we're even more pleased now to be able to re-open our Lidl store on London Road and welcome our customers to the new, brighter and better store.
"We've had fantastic support from the local residents and hope this positive event might go some way to boosting the morale of the community and increasing trade on London Road."
