A Croydon supermarket destroyed during the riots is to re-open today for the first time.
The Lidl supermarket, in London Road, was looted and badly damaged by fire during the disorder, on August 8 last year.
Today, the store will reopen and the first customer though the doors will be treated to champagne, flowers and a hamper filled with goodies.
The Lidl bus will be down at the store all day, with face painting and food samples on offer.
