Olympic inspectors have begun their final visit to the capital ahead of July's games.
Members of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) are in London for a three-day visit to make final checks on preparations for the games, which get underway on July 27.
Prime Minister David Cameron was on hand to welcome them and promised London would deliver "the greatest show on Earth".
He said: "The Olympics will revitalise local sport in Britain for generations to come."
Jacques Rogge, president of the inspection committee, said: "We are happy at the IOC.
"London has raised the bar on how to deliver a lasting legacy.
"We can already see tangible results in the remarkable regeneration of east London.
"This great historical city has created a legacy blueprint for future Games hosts."
Before they leave, the IOC inspectors will receive updates on preparations Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt, London 2012 chairman Lord Coe and Sports Minister Hugh Robertson, as well as the Prime Minister.
