Nearly 4000 weary walkers took to the streets to raise money for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity this weekend.

The second Marsden March, a 14 mile sponsored walk from the Royal Marsden in Chelsea to the Hospital in Sutton, saw patients, staff, friends and family hit the streets.

Larry Lamb, who was walking for the second year running, sent the walkers off with a spring in their step as they set off to raise money for the charity.

Marchers were joined by Nathaniel Parker, Nicholas Owen, Richard Fairbrass and Camilla Kerslake all of whom were keen to show their support for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

Amanda Heaton, Community Fundraising and Development Manager, from The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, said: "A huge thank you to everyone who gave up their Sunday in aid of the charity. We were overwhelmed with the support we received from walkers, helpers and celebrities".

The Marsden March is a very emotive day and so inspiring to see thousands of people of all ages marching between our hospital sites with one clear goal - to walk together to take on cancer."

Organisers thanked supporters who helped The Royal Marsden continue to push the boundaries and raise the standards of excellence.

This includes helping scientists searching for cures, doctors who depend on the latest cancer treatments and technologies, nursing students looking for the best in clinical education, and of course, patients and their families who are at the heart of everything we do.
