The England rugby captain and a classical singer visited young cancer patients in Sutton.

Chris Robshaw, England Rugby Union and Harlequins captain and his partner, Camilla Kerslake, spent a couple of hours touring the Oak Centre for Children and Young people at the Royal Marsden.

It was their first visit to the hospital; where Miss Kerslake is due to sing at the end of the Marsden March on Sunday in aid of the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

She sang with some of the children while Mr Robshaw donated a rugby ball signed by the members of the England rugby union squad.

Miss Kerslake was eager to help the Royal Marsden after their doctors treated her mother for cancer last year.

She said: “The Royal Marsden, and the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, does simply fabulous work.

“All the staff, patients and families are absolutely inspiring and Chris and I wanted to come and visit and help in any way we can.

“The Oak Centre for Children and Young People is the most amazing place, the children and staff are fantastic and we really enjoyed our time there.

“Hopefully we can come back and see everyone again soon.”
