Budding young artists are asked to compete to create a design for an 8ft model inspired by the Diamond Jubilee.

The Arc Arts & Recreation centre, Caterham, in partnership with Jean Hammond from Tollers Design Centre, Coulsdon, and the Caterham Festival, is aiming to create a unique piece of art to celebrate the Queen’s 60-year-reign.

Young artists aged six to 18 are being asked to come up with a design inspired by the jubilee.

All designs will be entered in to the competition judged by Jean and the winning one will then be transformed in to a huge 8ft 3D model and displayed for the Jubilee weekend.

Other selected designs will be displayed at the Arc over the Jubilee weekend.

The deadline for the designs is Saturday March 17.
