Sweet-toothed Suttonites will be salivating at the news a new patisserie has opened in the High Street.
Patisserie Valerie was visited by the Deputy Mayor of Sutton as it opened its doors on Saturday.
Staff handed over a donation of £100 to the Mayor’s Charity appeal fund.
Patisserie Valerie was originally conceived in Frith Street in Soho in 1926 by Belgian Madam Valerie.
During the Second World War the Frith Street premises were bombed by the Luftwaffe and Madam Valerie subsequently set up shop around the corner in Old Compton Street.
The business has spread with more than 30 shops across the country.
