Mitcham and Morden's MP joined members of Merton's Multiple Sclerosis Society for their monthly buffet last week.

Siobhain McDonagh visited the branch last week, at All Saints Day Centre, south Wimbledon, where the group meets for sandwiches and a slice on the fourth Saturday of every month.

Over lunch members raised issues including concerns about welfare cuts and accessing new medication.

Acting branch chair Alice Thacker said: "We have planned a series of opportunities for our members to quiz our local MPs and police-makers about subjects close to their hearts.

"This was a very interesting and informative meeting."

With about 100 members, the branch offers support, information and recreation to all those affected by MS, including their families and carers.
