Police are appealing for help in identifying two suspects for a recent burglary and GBH offence.

Two male suspects entered a terraced house in Byron Avenue, New Malden just before 6pm on Thursday February 2.

The occupants were out and a small porch window was smashed and entry gained to the porch by the front door.

A witness saw the two suspects inside the porch and asked what they were doing and one suspect told him to go away in an aggressive manner.

The suspect then picked up a recycling bin and threw it at the 51-year-old victim. The bin struck him in the face and he suffered a fractured jaw and a broken tooth.

The two suspects made off and got away in the general direction of the A3. They are described as white men aged between 25 and 35 years.

DC Simon Callcott, Merton CID said: "The victim in this incident has been assaulted viciously and for no reason.

"I am keen for anyone who was in the area at the time and may be able to assist with my enquiries to contact me.

"In addition, if you believe you know who the two people are in the drawings I would again like to hear from you."
