A world of exotic flavours will be brought to life for a special day in Croydon this spring.

The South Croydon Food Festival takes place on Sunday, April 15 and will showcase the area’s global cuisine available.

Diners will be able to enjoy their food al fresco as a section of South End will be closed to traffic.

A live demo kitchen and stalls will give visitors recipe ideas and cooking masterclasses while entertainment will take place along the street during the community event, organised as part of the Croydon Recovery Campaign.

Linda Arthur, secretary of South Croydon Business Association and owner of Bar Txt, in South End, said: “The South Croydon Food Festival is the biggest and boldest event that this area has ever undertaken and will really mark the start of new and exciting times for Croydon’s restaurant quarter.

“All of the businesses and local residents are really looking forward to the day which is going to feature fantastic food and drinks and great local entertainment.”

South End will be closed from 8am-6pm between Spicer’s Yard and Aberdeen Road to allow the event to take place.
