A Sutton youngster got the chance to meet Simon Cowell at a tea party for children's hospices.

At an exclusive Valentine afternoon tea at the Dorchester, families supported by Shooting Star CHASE met patrons Max Clifford and Simon Cowell.

Mr Cowell was grilled by youngsters who posed questions like 'why are your trousers so high' and 'how many houses do you own?'.

Grace, from Sutton, was pictured with Mr Cowell and also band McFly.

Asked about the event, Simon Cowell said: "I am here today to raise awareness of Shooting Star CHASE - hospice care for children and teenagers."

"I've got to know many of the children there over the years and receive regular texts and messages from them. For example, Sian will often text just to tell me what a great day she’s had at CHASE and that for me puts everything into perspective."

The auction included prizes donated by Chelsea captain John Terry, X Factor final tickets donated by Simon Cowell, McFly tickets donated by the boys themselves and tickets to meet Westlife and see them on their farewell tour, donated by Louis Walsh. The event raised a massive £110,000.
