The first supper club to celebrate a decade of Jamie Oliver's Fifteen scheme will be dedicated to the memory of Purley chef Kevin Boyle.

Mr Boyle was found dead last month, two miles from his home in Old Lodge Lane, after disappearing in October 2011.

The 26-year-old reached the final 30 out of 1,500 competitors to become one of the Oliver's original apprentices in the first series of Fifteen, which taught young people how to run a restaurant.

To celebrate 10 years of the apprentice scheme, graduates from the programme will cook a series of special meals at Oliver's Shoreditch restaurant.

The supper clubs will take place on 15th of each month, with the first event starting next month.

Oliver said he had originally planned to celebrate Fifteen's anniversary with a series of meals showcasing the achievements of graduates since leaving the scheme, but said the most important thing at the first meal would be to remember Kevin.

He said: "It's more important for this first meal that we remember Kevin and celebrate his life, as well as Fifteen's.

"I'll be there on the night and it'll be really emotional seeing all those guys back in the kitchen, but I think all of us will be fully aware that there is someone important missing from the family.

"We always look after our own, even long after they've graduated. Fifteen has lost a family member and we need to acknowledge that."
