Police say they have smashed a drug gang which was supplying heroin and crack cocaine in north Surrey.

Four men from Walton and East Molesey and another from Hampton were among the 21 criminals given prison sentences as a result of Operation Glacial.

More than 100 Surrey Police officers took part in dawn raids at addresses in Walton, Sunbury, Ashford, Staines and London on April 14 last year.

The final person was sentenced at Inner London Crown Court on January 13.

Detective Superintendent Alan Sharp, of Surrey Police, said: “These sentences are the result of a lot of hard work and dedication by the officers involved who were determined to break-up the supply chain of illegal drugs coming into north Surrey.”

Neighbourhood superintendent Sharon Bush said: “Illegal substances destroy lives.”

Marcus Anthony Platts, 41, from Walton received 30 months imprisonment for supplying class A drugs when he was sentenced on May 6, last year at Guildford Crown Court.

Phillip Arthur Douglas Hendry, 40, from Walton, received 12 months imprisonment at Guildford on May 13.

Paul Robert Davies, 27, from East Molesey, received 12 months imprisonment suspended for 18 months and a drug rehabilitation order.

Thomas Peel, 27, from Walton, was given a 12 month sentence suspended for 18 months and a drug rehabilitation order.

Wayne Michael King, 38, from Green Walk, Hampton received a two year prison sentence.
