A tumble dryer which overheated sparked a fire at an outhouse in Ewell yesterday afternoon.
The incident happened shortly after 4.30pm in a building at the back of a house in The Kingsway.
Two crews from Epsom fire station attended the blaze and spent two hours extinguishing it.
A spokesman for the fire station said the incident caused major damage to several other appliances in the outhouse, including a fridge freezer.
No one was injured.
