A woman was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after her convertible Smart Car was involved in a crash with a bus.

Police, London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service were called to the collision in Central Hill, Crystal Palace, at about 4am this morning.

It is understood the driver was pulling out of the junction at Elder Road when the smash with the double decker 432 bus occurred.

The car, which was badly damaged, was spun round in the impact, and ended up on the pavement.

Three female occupants of the car were injured. Two were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A police spokesman said the driver of the car had been arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink driving.

No one on the bus was hurt.
