Firefighters from West Norwood fire station were called to a house in Sydenham last night after a boy got his finger caught in his bed.

One crew, including the station's watch manager, attended the scene in Dome Hill Park shortly after 8pm.

A spokesman for the fire station said they were forced to cut the metal bed frame into pieces after the boy, believed to be seven-years-old, got his finger stuck in an 8mm wide hole.

It took three hours from the initial call out to finally free him, he said.

The boy was said to be unharmed.
